Starfleet Intelligence Division Six (SID6) is the Federation's most secretive branch of Starfleet Intelligence. Known only to the President of the Federation and to the Director of Starfleet Intelligence (DIRSI), the Division is dedicated to securing the future of the Federation at any cost. No price is too great; no treaty is unbreakable, and no team member is indispensable.
As the war with the Dominion and Cardassia rages on, more and more Starfleet Teams are being reassigned to the front. As this happens, SID6 must accept that we will begin facing more and more assignments that will take place behind enemy lines. The job of Crossover is to carry out assignments behind these lines without anyone ever knowing.
Borders between enemy factions exist not only to determine boundaries, but to keep heads of state feeling secure. Even at the heights of war, heads of state are far less likely to act rashly and make poor decisions if these boundaries fall uncompromised. As a member of Crossover, you must compromise these boundaries on a regular basis, but keep your work invisible.
Occasionally spies will need to be planted across enemy lines and later be delivered safely home. It is your job to guarantee this. Occasionally Starfleet learns of a Dominion or Cardassian Defector who cannot escape his homeland. It is your job to see that Defectors of these or any other factions find safe passage. Occasionally you will find yourselves with work of your own to conduct behind enemy lines. It is your job to see that this work is carried out flawlessly.
Your new home will be the Hermes, named after the messenger to the gods. It is designed to appear like a Romulan replica of a Defiant Class ship. It is armed to the teeth and can maneuver at least well as a Standard Starfleet Defiant Class vessel.
Learn to call this team your family, and when you have a chance, send a glance toward the plaque hanging high on the Bridge of the Hermes. "The only secret people keep is Immortality," it reads, reminding you that you must stay hidden not to secure the lives of individuals, but to secure the future of a Federation that will endure forever.
